Are you interested in alternative research methods and collecting data in a creative way? Do you want to learn how to use storytelling, visual methods or sensory data in your scientific research? Join our hands-on training on alternative research methods on 10-14 February 2020!

OtherWise strives to provide critical perspectives on research and education, explore different ways of learning and increase the diversity of approaches to research. Given the success of last year, we are organizing a second edition of the hands-on training on alternative research methods in February 2020. In the training you will experiment with research methods that are not often thought in university. Here you will be provided the space to experiment and practice with these methods. During the training we will address several questions:

  *   Why are other forms of research and knowledge important and
       valuable?
  *   What are alternative research methods and why or when are
       they useful?
  *   How do you use alternative methods in practice for your
       research?

In this hands-on course, you will become familiar with a variety of alternative research methods which can be used in inclusive, participatory research that is sensitive to its societal context. You will experiment with research methods in which you can collect information via storytelling or visual and audio data. Furthermore, you will practice on how to use intuition and the felt sense as a form of data in your research.
